Choosing a Particle Size
- Zooplanktos-S - a concentrated suspension of phytoplankton-enriched rotifers (Brachionus sp.), their eggs, and other small crustacean eggs, sized 50-300 microns for small-polyp corals.
- Zooplanktos-M - copepods sized 500 microns to 1mm, the mesoplankton size class, well matched to stony corals, clams, and similar filter feeders.
- Zooplanktos-L - the largest of the line, sized 500 microns to 2mm, suited to stony corals, clams, and larger filter-feeding invertebrates.
Enhanced Blends
- UltraPlanktos-Z - a concentrated blend of five types of marine zooplankton plus four marine-based food particulates, ranging 50 microns to 2mm, amino acid-enhanced for additional nutritional value.
- UltraPlanktos-P - a concentrated phytoplankton and micronutrient blend with over 200 million phytoplankton cells per ml, carrying omega-3 fatty acids for filter feeders that specifically target phytoplankton-size particles.
Feeding Tips
- Match particle size to your dominant coral types - smaller-polyp corals need the S or P-size options, while larger LPS and clams can handle M or L.
- Turn off flow and skimming briefly during feeding to give corals time to capture food before it's exported or pulled apart.
- Feed regularly but in small amounts rather than large infrequent doses, to avoid fouling water quality.
