Large-capacity skimming and a narrow sump compartment don't usually coexist, but the SRO Space Saver line packs the same 500–600 gallon-rated Bubble Blaster pump platform into a footprint built for tighter spaces. The SRO 5000 and 6000 Space Saver models bring big-tank skimming to compartments a standard SRO body wouldn't fit.
Why Space Saver at the High End
Bigger tanks need bigger skimmers, but bigger sumps don't always mean wider compartments — especially in tanks with a lot of other equipment competing for space. The Space Saver line solves this specifically for the largest common SRO capacities.
Choosing a Size
- SRO 5000 Space Saver — fits the same 500-gallon-rated Bubble Blaster HY-5000 pump platform into a small-footprint, mounting-flexible body.
- SRO 6000 Space Saver — rated from 400 gallons at heavy bioload up to 600 gallons at light bioload, in the same narrower footprint.
Setup Tips
- Measure compartment width and depth precisely before ordering, since that's the entire purpose of the Space Saver design.
- Break in gradually, expecting some microbubble overflow during the first 1–2 weeks.
- Confirm bioload expectations against the rated range — heavy bioload tanks should size toward the lower end of the gallon rating.
