T5HO and VHO fixtures still put out excellent light, but replacement bulbs and ballasts eventually become harder to source - Reef Brite's XHO strip is built with dense 3-watt LEDs (about 12 per foot) specifically to supplement or replace that aging fluorescent lighting. It comes in three spectrum options across seven lengths.
Why XHO Fits Where Fluorescent Used To
XHO's dense LED array is designed to match the broad, even light spread of a T5HO or VHO tube rather than the more concentrated output of a point-source fixture, making it a natural supplement or replacement in setups originally built around fluorescent lighting.
Choosing a Spectrum
- Blue - full actinic output for coral color and fluorescence, typically paired as a supplement to a primary display light.
- White - full spectrum daylight output for general illumination and color rendering.
- 50/50 - combines half Blue Actinic and half Full Spectrum White LEDs in a single strip, giving both channels without running two separate fixtures.
Choosing a Length
XHO strips are available in 15, 24, 30, 36, 48, 60, and 72-inch lengths across all three spectrums, sized to match your tank's footprint or to supplement specific sections of a longer display.
