Bacto Energy 250 ml

Fauna Marin Bacto Energy is a concentrated liquid carbon source that feeds denitrifying bacteria in a marine aquarium, helping them consume excess nitrate and phosphate.

• Feeds nitrifying/denitrifying bacteria colonies directly
• Helps lower nitrite, nitrate, and phosphate
• Highly concentrated — dose conservatively and adjust to test results
• 250 ml bottle

Carbon dosing gives bacteria the energy source they need to multiply and consume dissolved nitrogen and phosphorus compounds faster than they'd otherwise be exported — most useful in nutrient-rich or heavily-stocked tanks where nitrate and phosphate keep creeping up despite regular water changes. Because it's concentrated, start low and increase gradually while watching oxygen levels and skimmer output, as with any carbon-dosing product.

Compatible with: often paired with Fauna Marin Bacto Reef Balls or Bacto Reef Blend for a combined bacteria-plus-carbon-source nutrient export approach.
