The Reef Octopus Classic 150ext Recirculating Protein Skimmer pairs the 150-size reaction chamber with an external, recirculating design for aquarists who want drier skimmate and more control over export than an in-sump body typically delivers at this tank-size range. Water recirculates through the needle-wheel pump outside the sump, extending air/water contact before draining back.

• Best for: reef and mixed saltwater systems up to roughly 210 gallons with external plumbing room
• Setup: external, recirculating

• Maintenance: external body simplifies cup checks without reaching into the sump
