Fauna Marin Salinity Reference 100ml

Fauna Marin Salinity Reference is a pre-measured calibration solution used to verify and calibrate a refractometer or hydrometer against a known salinity value, in a 100ml bottle.

• Calibration value: 35 ppt salinity
• Specific gravity: 1.0264
• Refractive index: 1.3394
• Conductivity: 53 uS/cm at 25 degrees C

Why this matters: a refractometer that drifts out of calibration will read salinity wrong in a way that's easy to miss day-to-day, since the tank still looks normal. Checking it periodically against a known 35ppt reference solution catches that drift before it leads to a salinity swing during a water change.

Compatible with: optical and digital refractometers; can also be used to spot-check hydrometers and salinity probes.
