HYDROS Kraken
Large heavy-duty power manager for aquarium devices!
The Kraken introduces a new concept in aquarium controllers and provides high-power 24V DC switched outputs and a large heavy-duty power supply. This allows “power bricks” and “wall warts” to be removed from aquarium systems, significantly reducing wire clutter.
Max Per Force Port: 8A
Total Max Amperage: 20A
Dimensions 9.5 x 4.75 x 3.2 (LxWxH)

What devices are compatible with the Kraken?
There are two easy ways to figure that out.
If you’re wondering whether the Kraken is compatible with your aquarium devices, just answer two easy questions. First, does your device have a power supply brick? Second, is your device’s output voltage either 12v or 24v? If you answered yes to both questions, then your device is good to go with the Kraken!

Product Highlights:
- Power up to 20 amps of system-critical life support equipment
- Eliminates clutter by removing the need for eight individual 24V power supplies
- Measures the current flowing to each connected device and can detect over or under current conditions, alerting the user with alarms
- Allows the user to switch each output on or off based on various HYDROS parameters such as temperature, flow rate, and more
- The Kraken is a full brain that can share and take over the decision-making of a HYDROS Collective
- Designed to pass ETL/UL Certification
- Universal voltage works with both 110 and 220V
- External Industrial Grade Mean WellTM Super Brick
- No noisy fans, the Kraken is entirely passively cooled
- Optical isolation between the power circuitry and the control circuitry. This provides safety failure and isolates the control circuitry to reduce noise.
- All HYDROS products are engineered, assembled, and supported in the USA.

Eight Force Ports
Eight controllable DC power ports, each with individual power monitoring capabilities to safely manage aquarium equipment like lighting, water pumps, protein skimmers, filters, and much more using 24V power.

Four Drive Ports
Drive Ports provide power (switched 12V DC) and communicate between devices! They also monitor current and can be notified if a failure occurs. Drive Ports can support dosing pumps, cooling fans, cabinet LED lights, and more.

Battery Backup Port
A specific connection for an external 12V Lead Acid Battery to keep your system alive during power failures. A battery will keep the entire HYDROS system running in Low Power Mode during a power failure.

Two Command Bus
The Command Bus not only powers the Control, but it also communicates with other HYDROS devices for the ultimate failsafe.

Control Up to Eight WiFi Devices
HYDROS Powerstrip, Smart Outlet, & More
The HYDROS App allows you to create rules and set schedules to control our HYDROS 4-Outlet WiFi AC Power Strip or HYDROS Smart Plug (both sold separately). For example, quickly turn on or off different pieces of aquarium equipment like pumps, power heads, lights, heaters, algae scrubbers, UV sterilizers, protein skimmers, and more.
Fully Functioning HYDROS Controller
For the Ultimate Failsafe
Besides reducing the amount of 24V power bricks lying around the aquarium, the HYDROS Kraken is also a fully functioning HYDROS system controller capable of taking over intelligent decisions based on the status of other HYDROS devices within the Collective. The two HYDROS Command Bus Ports on the Kraken allow for a wired connection to any other HYDROS controller to form a collective of all Controls for the ultimate failsafe system. Control and monitor your Kraken power center from anywhere in the world using the technologically advanced HYDROS cloud-based app. The Kraken can also monitor and wireless control up to eight HYDROS WiFi devices.

Example Kraken Setup
For the organized aquarist who wants reliable power control!
The HYDROS Control setup with the Kraken is the best option for hobbyists who want organized and reliable power distribution. This setup includes the Kraken, which connects and powers various HYDROS controllers, LED lights, return pump, calcium reactor, and dosing pumps. It also has a battery connection for backup power. The Control X4 handles leak detection, pH and temperature monitoring, and powers the DC micro pump. The WaveEngine V2 controls the system’s four flow pumps. With the HYDROS Control System, hobbyists can have less wire mess, dependable power distribution, and backup battery features.
Initial Care Instructions
Initial Care Instructions
Once your coral arrives, float the sealed bag in your aquarium for 15–20 minutes to equalize temperature. Then, begin a drip acclimation process or slowly add small amounts of tank water to the bag every 5 minutes over 30–45 minutes.
2. Inspect and Dip:
Before placing the coral in your tank, inspect it for pests or hitchhikers. We strongly recommend using a coral dip solution to remove potential parasites or algae. Follow the dip instructions carefully and rinse with clean saltwater before introducing to your display.
3. Placement:
Start the coral in a low to moderate light and flow area to help reduce stress. Over the next week, gradually move it to its ideal lighting and flow conditions based on species needs.
4. Monitor Water Parameters:
Ensure stable water parameters (alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, salinity, etc.) and maintain good tank flow. Watch closely for signs of stress or tissue recession and adjust placement if necessary.
5. Patience Pays Off:
Corals often take a few days to fully open up after shipping. Give them time to adjust—avoid sudden lighting changes or overhandling during this period.
