IceCap 50 PRO Hang On Back Turf Scrubber

The IceCap 50 PRO Hang-On-Back Turf Scrubber exports nitrate and phosphate by deliberately growing algae in a controlled spot instead of letting it spread through the display — water trickles over an LED-illuminated screen, algae colonizes it, and you harvest and discard the algae (and the nutrients it absorbed) every couple weeks. No sump or plumbing required.

Harvesting: remove the top, loosen the quick-release union, lift out the screen, and scrape buildup off under running water — typically every 1-3 weeks. Leave some algae behind to seed faster regrowth rather than scraping the screen completely clean.

Best practice: run the LED lights on a reverse photoperiod from your display (opposite 12-hour schedule) to help stabilize tank pH overnight.
