IceCap Bio-Sphere Biological Filter Media

The IceCap Bio-Sphere Biological Filter Media packs a dense arrangement of small ceramic spheres into a sturdy 1-1/4in ball, giving beneficial bacteria a large, porous surface area to colonize. One 1kg box (40 balls) provides up to 18 gallons of biological filtration for freshwater, marine, or pond systems.

Setup tip: rinse new spheres to remove dust before use, and optionally soak overnight in a bacterial culture to jump-start colonization. Rinse gently in tank water every 12 months, and never replace all your media at once — stagger replacements to preserve established bacteria colonies.
