IceCap 660 VHO Ballast 120vac 60hz

The IceCap 660 VHO Ballast is an electronic ballast for driving VHO (very high output) fluorescent lamps on reef and marine aquarium lighting fixtures.

• Drives up to 4 lamps in various combinations, up to 440W total
• Input: 120VAC, 60Hz, 4.4A
• Operating frequency: 22-25 kHz
• Dimensions: 11.25 x 3.22 x 1.75 in; weight 2 lbs
• 3-year conditional warranty, fully repairable

Why this matters: VHO tubes need an electronic ballast tuned to their higher current draw — running them on a standard fluorescent ballast overheats the tube and shortens its life. The 660 runs cooler than earlier IceCap ballasts, which IceCap states cuts down on premature lamp burnout and fading, and its silent operation means it can sit in a canopy or stand without adding fan noise or hum near the tank.

Includes: ballast with wire harness. Power cord sold separately.

Compatible with: VHO, high-output, and standard fluorescent lamps in any combination, up to 4 lamps/440W total. Dimmable only with T12 VHO bulbs — T5 and PC lamps cannot be dimmed on this ballast.
