The Reef Octopus BioReact 150 Space Saver Reactor is an in-sump bioreactor built to control phosphate (PO4) and nitrate (NO3) by fueling beneficial bacteria growth. It runs on the energy-efficient, quiet Aquatrance pump and holds 2 liters of biological media in a space-saving cast acrylic body.

Bio-Spheres media works differently from biopellets — the encapsulated solid-carbon pellets feed bacteria more gradually, which many hobbyists find gives steadier nutrient export with less risk of a bacterial bloom from overdosing.
