Reef Octopus KS100 Nilson Kalkwasser Reactor

The Reef Octopus KS100 Nilsen Kalkwasser Reactor uses a high-torque, low-RPM motor to gently stir calcium hydroxide (kalkwasser) instead of relying on a powerhead — a quieter, more controlled way to dose fresh limewater into a reef system. The stirring action keeps undissolved kalk powder settled at the bottom while clear, fully saturated kalkwasser stays at the top, ready to be dosed.

• Best for: hobbyists dosing kalkwasser for calcium and alkalinity supplementation
• Motor: 20-watt high-torque, low-RPM stirring motor, rated for approximately 1,500 hours of use (not intended for continuous running)
• Design: large thumb screws for quick lid removal and kalk powder refills, seal-tight closure

Unlike a powerhead-stirred vat, this design never needs cleaning out clogged impellers — the motor sits above the chamber entirely, driving a stirring mechanism rather than sitting submerged in the kalk slurry.
