The Reef Octopus Regal 220-INT Protein Skimmer is rated for aquariums up to 500 gallons where sump space isn't a constraint. It runs the newer-generation RODC-5500S controllable DC pinwheel pump — Reef Octopus's next step in variable-speed flow technology — inside the same hybrid conical body used across the Regal line.

• Control features: 5 preset speeds via LED-indicated controller, single-button 10-minute feed/service mode, rotatable output volute (90-degree increments, vertical or horizontal discharge)
• Body: solid cast acrylic, hybrid conical shape, fully disassembles for cleaning

The rotating output volute is worth noting during planning — it lets you route discharge water vertically or horizontally in 90-degree steps to match your sump's plumbing layout.
