Latest in Controllable Technology\nThe new and innovative Reef Octopus Regal 300-INT in-sump protein skimmer supplies powerful filtration for up to 740 gallons of aquariums, where sump space is unlimited. The Reef Octopus Regal 300-INT is constructed of high-quality cast acrylic that is completely disassembled for cleaning. Its hybrid conical body naturally stabilizes and concentrates the organic-rich foam as it rises. \nThis Regal skimmer is quipped with an Octopus controllable Direct Current VarioS-6S pinwheel skimmer pump, the latest variable speed flow technology, allowing for refined control, enhanced performance, and efficiency. Most skimmer pumps available to hobbyists are alternating current \"AC\" pumps (the type of power that comes out of your wall outlet). Direct current pumps have several key advantages over traditional AC pumps. Most notably, you can control the motor's rotational speed, thus electronically controlling air and water flow rates into the skimmer. Now, the user can have the skimmer process more or less water by pushing a button!!! \nBioload Handling \n(Excluding sump) \n\n\n\nLight\nMedium\nHeavy\n\n\n740 USG\n620 USG\n500 USG\n\n\n\n \nRecommended Sump Water Height: 7.9 - 9.9in \nSkimmer Features \n\n\nSafe and Efficient 36V Power \n\n\nSolid Cast Acrylic Construction \n\n\nHigh-Performance VarioS Skimmer Pump \n\n\n5 Controllable Energy Saving Power Settings \n\n\nDetachable Controller with Waterproof Union \n\n\nSafety Float Switch \n\n\n0-10v Input for 3rd Party Controller \n\n\nIntegrated Memory \n\n\nTwo pause/feed modes will shut off the pump for 15 or 60-minute intervals \n\n\nREFINED CONTROL \nIn addition to allowing the pump to run at five different speeds, the new VarioS Controller takes the pump to a new level, featuring: \n\nA float switch connection allows you to connect a float switch (included in the box) to the controller. This added security feature will enable you to shut off the skimmer pump when your waste collector is full or shut off your water pump when your sump water has reached a high or low level. You don’t need another module or controller to add a float switch to your system.\nTwo different pause/feed modes shut off the pump for 15 or 60-minute intervals. These are handy when feeding the tank or conducting regular maintenance, such as a water change.\nThe best feature of the VarioS controller is… a 0-10v input, allowing a 3rd party controller, such as
Initial Care Instructions
Initial Care Instructions
Once your coral arrives, float the sealed bag in your aquarium for 15–20 minutes to equalize temperature. Then, begin a drip acclimation process or slowly add small amounts of tank water to the bag every 5 minutes over 30–45 minutes.
2. Inspect and Dip:
Before placing the coral in your tank, inspect it for pests or hitchhikers. We strongly recommend using a coral dip solution to remove potential parasites or algae. Follow the dip instructions carefully and rinse with clean saltwater before introducing to your display.
3. Placement:
Start the coral in a low to moderate light and flow area to help reduce stress. Over the next week, gradually move it to its ideal lighting and flow conditions based on species needs.
4. Monitor Water Parameters:
Ensure stable water parameters (alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, salinity, etc.) and maintain good tank flow. Watch closely for signs of stress or tissue recession and adjust placement if necessary.
5. Patience Pays Off:
Corals often take a few days to fully open up after shipping. Give them time to adjust—avoid sudden lighting changes or overhandling during this period.
