The Reef Octopus SRO XP8000 In-Sump Protein Skimmer sits between the standard SRO 5000/6000 lines and the commercial 9000EXT, built around the powerful Bubble Blaster HY-10000 pinwheel pump. Its full cone "volcano" body shape reduces back pressure on the pump compared to a standard cone, improving air/water draw and organics removal.

The full-cone volcano shape is the key difference from the standard SRO cone bodies — it lowers back pressure on the HY-10000 pump so it can move more air and water at the same power draw.
