The WYSIWYG Acan Echinata is a fleshy Acanthastrea colony packed with jewel-toned polyps — neon greens, fiery oranges, and deep reds that fluoresce under blue light. Acans are hardy, rewarding, and love to eat, plumping up and spreading quickly when kept well fed. WYSIWYG means "what you see is what you get": the exact colony pictured is the one we’ll ship you.

• Difficulty: Beginner-friendly LPS — hardy and fast to color up.
• Lighting: Low to moderate; too much light washes out the color, so keep it lower in the tank.
• Flow: Low to moderate and gentle, so the polyps inflate fully.
• Placement: On the sandbed or low rockwork with a little space from neighbors.
• Feeding: A big driver of color and growth — target-feed meaty foods a couple of times a week.
• Parameters: 76–78°F, salinity 1.025, Alk 8–11 dKH, Ca 400–450, Mg 1,250–1,350.
